MEDICAL INDICATIONS:
Treatment of primary lymphedema, edema after trauma and sports injuries, edema after immobilization, venous insufficiencies, and lymphedema
ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• Acute pulmonary edema
• Acute thrombophlebitis
• Acute heart failure
• Infections, deep vein thrombosis
• Episodes of pulmonary embolism, wounds, lesions, or tumors at or near the application site
• When increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable, fractures or dislocations at or near the application site
• Presence of arterial insufficiency
• Local or proximal malignancy and patients on anticoagulation therapy
• During pregnancy only after consulting a doctor
Venen Engel Compression Stockings:
Indications
- Venen Engel compression stockings are suitable as an aid for prevention and supportive treatment of venous system disorders, as well as lymphedema and lipedema.
- They are particularly effective against tired and heavy legs and reduce evening edema formation.
- With consistent use, they can prevent or at least delay pathological venous insufficiency in predisposed individuals.
- They are suitable for pregnant women and for some forms of initial distal insufficiency of the superficial veins in young or middle-aged people who have to stand a lot or are genetically predisposed.
Contraindications

Absolute Contraindications
- Advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease
- Severe pathological edema in the lower limbs
- Septic phlebitis
- Severe thromboses, such as phlegmasia cerulea dolens
- Lymphangitis
- Advanced peripheral neuropathies, e.g., due to diabetes mellitus
- Other disturbances of leg sensitivity
- Intolerance or allergies to the material of the compression stockings
Relative Contraindications
- Ulcers and open wounds
- Weeping dermatoses
- Immobility
- Stasis dermatitis
- Severe valve incontinence of the superficial and deep leg veins
- Deep vein thrombosis or acute thrombophlebitis
- Post-thrombotic syndrome
- With stockings with a silicone edge, skin irritation may occur in case of an allergy to the material
